About this article

This article describes the roles and rights structure within NextChapter PIM.

Introduction

PIM is often used by a department of category manager and content creators who continously enrich article data.
They split tasks and often work on their own content component, sucha s images, translations, (AI)descriptions, etc. That is why you can create a role for each employee, in order for that person to only get access to relevant components for him or her, and so they don't see any irrelevant information.

What roles and rights are there?

PIM is a very flexible system when it comes to roles and rights. There are no fixed rights structures, precisely because the rights can be adjusted very finely per user.

  • Admin access, which also allows you to manage access for other users
  • Access to all components
  • Access to a selection or all fields
  • Access to a selection or all properties
  • Access to a selection or all property values
  • Access to a selection or all imports
  • Access to a selection or all exports
  • Access to mapping
  • Within access, you can also distinguish between read-only or editing rights. This can also distinguish between the sources of input. For example, when fields from an external system, such as an ERP, are always set to read-only for organizational reasons, regardless of user rights.

The above are just examples of the detailed nature of PIM's right structure.
