How does managing Merchandising banner on lister pages work?

Introduction

Using the Merchandising banner functionality, you can place banners at strategic locations between the products on your lister pages to better draw the attention of your visitors to your actions, promotions or other marketing content.

You can configure the banners yourself, such as: at which positions the banners will be placed between the products, the categories on which the banners are displayed, multiple banners for various pages, flexible start and end dates including time. The banners work in real time and directly from the NextChapter back office.

How it works

In the NextChapter back office you will find this feature under Marketing > Merchandising > Banners.

To set up the banners, follow these steps:

• You give the banner a clear/recognizable name 
• Type: product position or row position
  A banner on a product position is displayed between the products. So the same size and in the same position as products.
  A banner in a row position is shown as a wide banner between the product rows.
• You check it for test and/or live
• You can schedule the banners if necessary
• At position you indicate the position of the banner. This is the position of the banner on the category page. So at position “3” you first see 2 products and at position 3 the banner.
  This position refers to the first page. For example, if your webshop shows 24 products, the maximum position is 24.
• Check the 'Repeat' box to indicate whether you want to repeat this. At position 3 this means that the (same) banner is shown at position 3, 6, 9, 12, etc.
  Repeating also continues on the following results pages 2, 3, 4, etc.
• Upload the banner for all languages and optionally enter an alt text, text and link.
• Go to the Categories tab. Here you indicate in which category(ies) you want to display this banner.
  There are several NextChapter categories (category with products, content, overview, etc.) You can show the banners on all categories with products.
  You can link your banner to one or more categories at the same time.
